Originally from Poland, after participating in multiple international exchange programs, Greg Zapotoczny settled in North Carolina where he received his doctorate degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UNC Chapel Hill. Upon completion of his postdoctoral training at the University of Southern California, Greg transitioned to the Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine to lead cancer drug development efforts. This is how he became interested in medical product regulation and joined a Master’s in Regulatory Management Program at the USC School of Pharmacy. During his regulatory training, Greg led a collaborative project with CTIP on the development of Startup Maturity Index tool to support pediatric medical device development. Now as a full-time member of the CTIP team, Greg strives to leverage his academic, industry, and non-profit experience to build a Medical Device Clinical Trials Unit to further support technological advancements in pediatric care. Personally, Greg is an avid hiker and a ballroom dancer. He enjoys spending time with his two cats, Donny and Badger.
