Weese-Mayer, MD, conducts research in genetic disorders of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and respiratory control; neurocristopathies; congenital central hypoventilation syndrome(CCHS); rapid-onset obesity with hypothalamic dysfunction, hypoventilation and autonomic dysregulation (ROHHAD); sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS); Rett syndrome; physiological maturation of the ANS and respiratory control in extremely preterm-born infants; development of tools to objectively and non-invasively evaluate the ANS.
