Applications Open: CTIP MedTech Innovation Challenge

Chicago, IL — October 2, 2025 – The Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) is now accepting applications for the annual CTIP MedTech Innovation Challenge, an initiative designed to advance pediatric medical device innovation and transform health care delivery for children worldwide.

The CTIP MedTech Innovation Challenge provides a platform for hospital staff and faculty innovators to receive support on early-stage projects addressing critical gaps in pediatric health care. Applications received during the inaugural Challenge spanned various development stages, from concept to advanced prototypes, and covered FDA device classifications, including Class I, II, and combination products. Applications were received from more than 10+ hospitals and healthcare organizations across the United States and internationally.

The Challenge looks forward to receiving applications from groundbreaking solutions across a variety of pediatric specialties that address a wide range of pediatric health care needs.

The Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) is uniquely positioned within a consortium of collaborators that span over 8 states. The Innovation Challenge leverages CTIP and KidsX networks to uncover innovative pediatric medical device solutions developed by hospital staff and faculty to ultimately support the translation of these projects into practical, high-impact medical devices. By addressing barriers to commercialization, this Challenge is a critical step in advancing pediatric health technology.

Entrepreneurial Bootcamp and Next Steps
Finalists will embark on an entrepreneurial bootcamp running from January through March 2026, designed to provide the tools and knowledge needed for the path towards commercialization. Final awardees will be notified in March and gain access to CTIP support services, including non-dilutive funding opportunities, advisory and consulting services, and more.

CTIP remains committed to advancing pediatric health care innovation by empowering startups, providing mentorship, and fostering collaboration. The MedTech Innovation Challenge underscores the significant impact of partnership and innovation on improving outcomes for children.
