CTIP Announces 2026 Catalyzing Pediatric Innovation Annual Grant Competition

CHICAGO, IL – MARCH 23, 2026 – Submissions are now open for the Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) 2026 Catalyzing Pediatric Innovation (CPI) Annual Grant Competition. Selected pediatric medical device innovators will be awarded up to $50,000 in grants.

Pediatric patients have long been underserved in the medical devices space, with many being treated with adult medical devices instead. Pediatric medical devices lag up to ten years behind adult device counterparts – and CTIP aims to address the lack of access to effective diagnostic or therapeutic devices made specifically for children.

Supported by a grant from the U.S. FDA Pediatric Device Consortia (PDC), CTIP is pleased to provide grants to selected submissions to support the advancement of innovation in pediatric medical devices from ideation through commercialization.

Submission Criteria for the 2026 CPI Grant

  • Must be a U.S.-based company
  • Must have a novel medical device or technology that has a pediatric application as defined by the FDA (0 to 21 years of age)
  • Must have a device regulated by the FDA (including Software as a Medical Device)
  • Must be feasible for CTIP to support (see our rules on allowable use of funds)
  • Must have clear achievable milestones for the funding period with specific metrics or deliverables

Please note: Medical devices with adult indications that are expanding or wish to expand their clinical indication to pediatrics are welcome to apply.

Submissions Not Eligible for the CPI Grant

  • Development of novel drugs and chemical therapies will not be funded.
  • Process improvement and innovations are also not eligible for funding.
  • Fetal devices or technologies (without other pediatric applications) will not be funded.
  • No indirect costs will be allowed. CPI Grants are funded with allocated Direct Device Funding (DDF) from the CTIP FDA Pediatric Device Consortium grant.
